Inspiration Boards - Always the Bridesmaid

As you may or may not know - a considerable amount of planning goes into an event, and even a photo shoot. We were going through some of our Inspiration Boards earlier and found our original ideas for "Always the Bridesmaid".

It's always fun to see how the original plans morph into the final product, so I thought I'd share them with you!

Rocking the Grey on Grey

This wedding found its way into our inbox the other day from Derek Smith Photography - and we fell in love with it straight away!

Grey is a colour that sneaks into more and more weddings nowadays but it takes true pioneers to choose grey on grey and just completely rock it!

 And rock it, they do!

Of course we absolutely died when we saw these props - what a great way to highlight key parts of your wedding!

Congratulations to Carla and Dale on such a gorgeous wedding, and we wish you every happiness!

Traditionally these are used with tealight or votive candles (be sure to put them into a glass container before slipping them into the bag - luminaries are extremely flammable!), however we have discovered a whole new dimension:

We placed coloured LED lights are placed into white luminaries to create a whole new look! You could even pop in a colour-changing RGB light - the possibilities are endless.

Of course if you're after coloured candlebags (stunning even in daylight) - we have 5 different colours sold individually so you can mix and match, depending on the look you're after:

Going Dotty

A new year, a new style of lantern! We actually have several types to showcase over the next few weeks - the first being the lanterns from our new spectacular new polka dot range!

Available in blue, pink, black, green and red - they are perfect for celebrations for all ages. Mix them with other lanterns of similar shades, or go completely dotty and cluster them all together. (We like the red ones - they match our blog layout perfectly!)

They also work beautifully with white lanterns - splash a little colour around:

A Very Whimsical Christmas!

Well the markets were cancelled, thanks to certain cyclonic conditions. It was so disappointing - especially since we had everything ready to go, and fresh cupcakes to display in our Christmassy wrappers!

But as the song goes - we'd better not pout! So...in lieu of the markets, we put together a Christmas-themed photoshoot and we'll be launching our massive end-of-year sale in the next 2 days.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Time flies!

It's been awhile, dear readers. We've been rushed off our feet with Christmas orders, parties, market preparation and new web design clients. It's amazing how time flies when you're having fun!

Our most recent client is Sashay Bridal who are reasonably new to the Brisbane wedding scene - and have some absolutely gorgeous designs - at some really decent prices. Check out their new website here:

We're pleased to announce that we've been featured in Brisbane's "Planning Weddings" magazine - keep an eye out for our ad (it's very pink!) - and swing by and say hi if you've spotted us in it!

On the Facebook Front - we now have 475 fans! We are absolutely gobsmacked and blessed by the support we've received in the few short months that we've been in business. We're moving into hire and styling in the coming year and we can't wait to make your events as memorable as you dream them to be. In January some major work is going to be happening to our online store to integrate it into the new site design - which will hopefully keep everything streamlined.

Don't forget we'll be making an appearance at the Twilight Markets at Kurwongbah (near Petrie) on the 17th of February from 6pm onwards (weather permitting). Come and see a dazzling display of coloured lanterns - some as cheap as $2 each, and see our incredible lantern and flower light-strings in action. We'll also have a range of cupcake wrappers - perfect for last minute Christmas presents - and heaps more!
